About the Role:
Rajal J Patel DDS PA is looking for a detail-oriented Dental Insurance Coordinator to join our growing dental practice in Orange, NJ! In this essential role, you'll be the bridge between our patients and their insurance providers, ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience from check-in to claim resolution. Responsibilities:
- Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits for patients prior to appointments
- Submit and follow up on dental insurance claims, including primary and secondary billing
- Review and process EOBs (Explanation of Benefits) and post insurance payments accurately
- Communicate with insurance carriers to resolve claim denials, appeals, and discrepancies
- Educate patients on their insurance coverage, co-pays, and out-of-pocket responsibilities
- Maintain accurate patient records and insurance information within dental practice management software
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure proper coding (CDT codes) and documentation for claims
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in dental insurance coordination or dental billing
- Familiarity with dental insurance plans including PPO, HMO, and Medicaid
- Proficiency with dental practice management software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of CDT coding and insurance claim submission processes
- Excellent communication and patient-facing customer service skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- High school diploma or equivalent required; dental assisting or billing certification a plus
